Salina Somalya

Salina works primarily with metals, including anodised aluminium, steel and copper. Her designs have an underlying essence of Eastern Architecture where its fluidity and transparency is captured through a variety of intricately worked techniques and processes some of which are incorporated from other complimentary disciplines, in particular textiles.

Her work uses the 'exotic' to fuse culture and contemporary together with geometric and organic elements resulting in unique and distinguished pieces of art, which are underlined by a strong emotive quality that challenges the perception of modern metal art.

Salina has exhibited nationally and internationally as well as completing both private and public commissions.
